Read the Module, M6: Background – Sexes & Genders, Background – Sexuality & Sexual Orientation, and Beyond Binary Oppositions and their Stereotypes (attached PDFs) about the differences between sex and gender, as well as about the continuum of sexes and genders in American culture and society. Critically reflect on the cultural domain of gendered identities by grounding your understanding of sexes and genders in biology and culture, respectively. Then, respond to a recent movement toward gender inclusivity in the United States and the challenges members of those groups can and do face.
