You’ll now apply what you’ve learned about healthcare management to
analyze how a healthcare organization uses its mission statement and
strategic statement to target a specific type of customer.
Instructions
This project requires you to research and answer a series of
questions about a healthcare organization. You’ll demonstrate your writing, research, and critical-thinking skills in this assignment.
Step 1
Review SP0754 Research Projects for instructions regarding research projects. FILE IS ATTACHED
Step 2
Choose a hospital organization and research answers to the following questions and prompts:
What’s the organizational structure of your chosen organization? Is
there a board of trustees, a corporate department, and so on?
What’s the mission or strategic statement of your organization?
What kind of services, such as surgeries and patient care, does the organization provide?
Do a SWOT analysis on the organization. What are the weaknesses and strengths of the organization?
Give a brief description of the organization. Where is it located?
When was it founded? Has it received any outstanding awards or
achievements?
Describe the general population surrounding the organization.
You can use sites such as the Census Bureau to answer some of the questions.
Write your findings in your own words. You’ll need to use additional
research sources and other websites to complete your project. Use
appropriate citation throughout your paper, and include a Works Cited
page with the project.
Writing Guidelines
Adhere to the following guidelines when working on your project:
Ensure your paper is typed, double-spaced with one-inch margins, and in a standard print font, size 12.
Include the following information at the top of your paper:
Name
Student number
Course title and number (ALH225 Healthcare Management)
Research project number
Read the assignment carefully and answer each question.
Be specific. Focus on answering the questions asked and issues mentioned.
Include in-text citations and a Works Cited page if you use, reference, or quote information from the textbook or other sources.
Proofread your work carefully. Check for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.
